Newcastle Herald

Saturday September 11, 1999

FIVE apartments in a recently completed block of six at Nelson Bay are up for sale.

One, open to offers of more than $600,000, is on the block's top two floors, the third and fourth upper levels.

Its lower floor contains three bedrooms, the main bathroom and an en suite. The apartment's top floor has a kitchen, a lounge/dining area and a wraparound balcony with views out to Broughton Island.

Each of four other units on the first two upper levels are selling for $295,000 each. Common features are ceramic floor tiling, two bedrooms with the master bedroom having an adjoining en suite, and balconies.

The balconies off the lounge/dining areas on the two second-level apartments make the most of spectacular bay views.

Larger balconies for two units on the first upper level make up for their lesser water views.

Each unit has security parking for one vehicle on the ground floor.

The units, at No 1 Church St, are open for inspection today from noon to 12.30pm.

Mr Rob O'Brien, for the selling agency, L.J. Hooker Belmont, said the 34 properties included 20 two-bedroom furnished terraces priced from $235,000, and 14 two- and three-bedroom furnished cottages priced from $265,000.

Rafferty's Resort is on 14ha off Rafferty's Rd. All the accommodation is privately owned and professional on-site management is available.

Mr O'Brien said: `You can live there permanently, have a permanent tenant, or use it when you want to and rent it when you don't.'

Significant taxation benefits were available on each dwelling, he said. For more information, contact Mr O'Brien on 4945 8600 or 0408 493 266. * A VACANT 4230sq metre waterfront block at Coal Point, with potential for subdivision into three lots, has been sold for $355,000.

Mr Barry Newman, for the selling agency Robinson Property, said a Newcastle syndicate, Safron Pty Ltd, were the new owners of the block in Coal Point Rd.

He said that a deep anchorage was available in water nearby. The land, which used to be the site of a house, had been excavated for a new house and a boat shed. * NIKKINBA Ridge Estate at Fletcher has announced the release of 32 lots. Comprising the development's fifth stage, they range in price from $65,000 to $73,000 and in size from 600sq metres to 800sq metres.

Most of the lots have a fall of less than one metre and suit housing with a slab construction.

The owner, the Stockland Trust Group, has also reduced the price on 20 selected lots in stages two and three by an additional $4000.

They now range from $34,000 to $54,000 for level lots. The blocks require a bearers and joist type of construction.

The price reductions for these lots are conditional to settlement occurring before November 27.
